We are delighted to announce that WayMaker Child Therapy CIC has received funding from The National Lottery Community Fund through the Awards for All programme.
This funding will allow us to provide much-needed Play Therapy, Parenting Sensory Support and our Brain Balance programme to children and families in our local community. Alongside one-to-one therapeutic support for children, we will provide parenting groups focused on helping parents better understand their child's sensory and emotional needs, with practical strategies they can use at home. Our Brain Balance programme will support children experiencing difficulties with areas such as focus, concentration and emotional regulation. Together, these different strands will allow us to support the whole child while also equipping parents with greater understanding and confidence to support their child beyond the therapy room.
Through this funding, children will be able to access specialist 1:1 play therapy sessions in a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment. These sessions help children process emotions, develop resilience, improve emotional regulation, and strengthen overall wellbeing.
Alongside our play therapy provision, the funding will also support the delivery of a parenting programme designed to empower and support parents and carers. The programme will provide practical tools, therapeutic understanding, and guidance to help families strengthen relationships, understand children’s emotional needs, and build confidence in parenting.
We know that early support can make a significant difference for children and families, and we are proud to be able to offer this support within our community.
We will be accepting referrals for children and families who may benefit from these services and look forward to supporting more families on their journey of healing, connection, and growth.
